Mick has seen Chris health declining since his open heart surgery in 2017, seeing his best friend going through a stroke and not being able to pick up his hammer!
Chris was so distraught that he vowed to sell all his blacksmith tools ( which took him a lifetime to collect) and Mick would not have it! he encourage Chris and challenged him in making more complex projects in the glass shop, and Chris has sat in the sidelines and give him pointers in the blacksmith shop.
Mick now helps relieve Chris stress by handling the money and shop inventory and setup.

The journey began when founding member Professor Draggie (Chris) was just 7 years old, where he mesmerized crowds with his blacksmithing demonstrations at local fairs. A few short years later, he was invited to the 140th anniversary of Gettysburg as the demonstrating blacksmith at the young age of 14. This cementing his role as a blacksmith for 28 years (including current day).
It was a fateful encounter with Grumpy Gears (Mick) 20 years ago that spurred our adventures in reenacting history together, blending artistry with history. Working with museums like National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, No 9 Coal Mine and Museum, Countless SCA and Marklan Reenactments, finally landing their very own historical shop Biery Port Blacksmith shop in Catasauqua PA (closing in 2016).
The Name Black Dragon came at a happy accident, when at a reenactment event Chris made his way to the open field and decided to show off his skill that he learned at the circus. He leaned back and blew a 20 foot flame from his mouth. Now Chris has been forging all day so he was black from the soot of the forge, after the 20 foot flame disappeared in the sky a small child said "look momma! a Black Dragon!" and the name stuck!
Chris got the name Professor Draggie got his name when the headmaster of Peaceful Hollows Preparatory School of the Magically Inclined, said to him from now on you black dragon will be know as Professor Draggie! The name has stuck, in 2025 Chris along with his lifetime friends, Mick, Roger, John and Raven decided to make the leap to form Black Dragon IGR a LLC!
